Cassie Evans walked onto the station pulling her trunk behind her.

"Bye Cassie." Her mother said.

"Bye Mum."

Her mum held somethig out in your hand. "For your bracelet."

Cassie smiled and added it to the bracelet she had around her wrist. It was a family tradition that the girls got braclets when they were born. Cassie pulled her trunk onto the train and got into a empty compartment. She was glad to be finally going to Hogwarts.

I walked in between my parents, with my brother (and twin) Draco next to me. Mum and Dad had already had some house elves bring our school trunks, so we didn't have to worry about lugging those behind us, or pushing them in front of us, or whatever. We reached the door to the train and stopped. "Be good at school," Mum said.

"We will," Draco and I said.

We both hugged our mum, and our father gave us a nod before we boarded the train.

I pushed my trunk under the chair because I was too lazy to pick it up and place it on top. My wand was in my pocket. I felt safer with a wand.

I leant back on the chair and looked out the window as the train started and started to gather speed. Soon I couldn't see the platform.

Draco and I walked down the isle of the train, looking for the kids we had grown up around, although I didn’t like them very much at all. They were the only people on the train we knew.

We found them after passing a compartment with only one person in it. Draco opened the door and they all looked up at us. "Hey guys," I said.

Greetings were exchanged with Draco and I still standing in the walkway. Draco went in first and I noticed how small it was inside. Perfect, time to escape them.

"You know what, guys," I said. "It looks a tad crowded. I'll just go elsewhere." Smiling at them, I stepped back and shut the door, glad for some reason not to sit there. Obnoxious prats the lot of them.

I moved back a compartment to the one with the lone girl and knocked before opening the door. "Mind if I sit here?" I asked. "The compartment I intended to sit in is somewhat full."

I shook my head. "You can sit there if you want."

I didn't know anyone starting this year, although my mum was a witch I spent alot of time with Muggle's. Not that I cared. In my opinion they were fine. They had quite a advanced technology without the use of magic and some of their things were easier. If you wanted to talk to someone they didn't need to be at their house and you didn't need to shove your head in a fireplace. Sending a letter was simplier too. Just put on a stamp and put it in a box, you don't have blasted owls waking you up at 4 in the morning. Everyone now and again we'd get a magical visitor but not often.

"Thanks," I said going in and sitting across from her.

"Um…We may as well get to know each other or this will be a long train ride of boredom. I'm Melyssa Malfoy. You?"

I smiled slightly. "Cassandra Evans, but I prefere Cassie or Cass." I said.

"What house do you want to be in? Or think you'll be in?" I asked her.

I was curious to know what everyone else thought of the houses.

"Just call me Lyssa, I hate Melyssa," I said.

Then I sighed as she mentioned houses. I looked out the window for a moment before answering her.

"My whole family has been in Slytherin," I muttered quietly. I wasn't proud of that fact at all. "So the outlook for me is well..."

I smiled. "My mum was a Gryffindor so I'm aiming for that but you never know." I shrugged. "But I somehow doubt I'd get in the other houses. I'm not smart, I'm not evil and I'm not whatever Hufflepuffs are." I smiled. "My mum only told me about Hogwarts quite recently actually."

"You know Slytherin isn't about being evil. It's cunning. Some of the Slytherins could be Ravenclaws if they weren't set on breaking the rules and were a tad more studious," I said, feeling the need to secondarily defend my family, despite the fact that most of them were evil.

Then my eyes widened as I realized what she had said. "Are you serious? I've been waiting for Hogwarts my whole life."

I shrugged. "Well my Mum is a witch and my dad and sister are Muggle's, I mostly grew up as a Muggle with a little bit of magic."

I smiled. I didn't really care.

"My sister is a year older and she wanted to come but she's not magical."

I stared at her for a second. Having grown up surrounded by magic, plus with my parents being who they were I didn't know the first thing about Muggles.

"You didn't have magic growing up?" I asked shocked look on my face. "That's just seems so weird. I come from a pureblood family, so I've been around magic my whole life. Can you tell me about Muggles?"

"No, I didn't and I don't care much either. Magic makes you lazy, why bother walking to get something when you can flick your wand and it will come to you. Mum only used her wand scarcely and she always got us to do things ourselves. If I have kids, I'm going to do the same thing." I smiled. "Muggle's aren't actually all that different from us, we have magic, they don't. Thats really the only difference. They have the same goals in life and the same prioities, they jsut go around them differently."

"That's really cool. And well, we have to do stuff ourselves until we're 17 anyways, so I suppose its not too off…well there are the house elves, but I don't like ordering them about or having them do things for me…" I trailed off then went back to looking out the window.

"House elves?" Cassie's mum hadn't talked about anything that wasn't relevent to her in general so she knew she was really on square two. She knew more then the Muggle Borns but less then the other Half Bloods probably. "Mum didn't tell me much about the wizarding world."
